The Texas Rangers are an American professional baseball team based in Arlington, Texas, located in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. They repeated as AL West champions two years later before losing to Baltimore Orioles in five games after holding a 2-0 lead at home during 2012 American League Division Series (ALDS). In 2016, Forbes valued the Rangers at $1.65 billion, making them one of MLB's most valuable franchises according to Forbes' estimates

The Texas Rangers were created in 1835 and are widely considered to be one of, if not the oldest law enforcement agency in North America. Not only did they hold this honor, but they were also the first law enforcement agency in the United States with statewide jurisdiction! Notably, both organizations share a history of being partially made up of Native American warriors (the team's mascot, for example).
