For school field trips and family reunions, the Arboretum's group entry is through the main gate on Garland Road, and the on-site lot accommodates buses in a designated area. The Perot Museum of Nature and Science opened in 2012 in Victory Park and has become one of the DFW area's highest-volume school trip destinations — 180,000 square feet across five floors, featuring a T. rex skeleton, the Tom Hunt Energy Hall, a sports hall with physics demonstrations, and the Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall. Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 2–11. The museum's downtown location on Field Street means bus parking in the surrounding Victory Park lots, with passenger drop-off at the main entrance on Field Street.
School groups should book programs at least four weeks in advance through the museum's education department. The DART Green/Orange line Victory station is a short walk away for groups using transit connections, but a private charter bus from Mesquite keeps students together from school pickup to return and stores lunchboxes in the undercarriage bays for the courtyard picnic area.
